ALERT! Genealogists!: October 25: This email message was just received regarding a threat to the access of genealogical type records in the United States. In the furor of terrorist threat and political aspirations, our representatives in our government are moving to prohibit access to genealogical records. We are all behind protecting our country and its citizens from terrorist activity, but we need to be seriously concerned about our rapidly diminishing rights as citizens. Hard earned access to records could be lost in poorly thought out legislation! If you are reading this, then you probably have an interest in genealogy. Even if not, then you should be concerned about rapidly diminishing rights due to the Patriot Act. YOU MUST ACT, NOW!! Pass this along to friends, family, and others. Read this message and take action! This is the way of Democracy that our forebearers have died for! VOTE on November 4th for those representatives that share your belief in Freedom. AT HOME! and abroad!

2004 AGM: The 2004 Annual General Meeting was highly successful. Great thanks go to Stuart and Bernadine Blair who worked hard to make it a success. Blairs came from Virginia, West Virginia, Pennsylvania, California, Arizona, Texas, and Maine only to name a few. The annual Board meeting had strong attendance and spirited discussions on our present and future activities. Watch for a complete report on our members pages soon. Also, MARK YOUR CALENDARS for Next Year! February 26-27, 2005 in Mesa, Arizona. See the AGM 2005 page that will be coming soon here.
BLAIR DNA Project: There is a very interesting genealogical project happening for Blair descendants right now. John A. Blair, owner of the BlairGenealogy.com domain has taken on administration of a Family Tree DNA project for the BLAIRs. To date there are 73 direct male Blair descendants that have submitted test kits of their DNA for analysis. The results are very interesting and for some, surprising! I won't give it away here, but I suggest that if you are a direct descendant (Surname Blair) of the Blairs, and male, that you investigate this project. If you are a female researcher, Family Tree DNA is working on the other side of the chromosones for you. In the meantime, if you know of a direct male descendant, encourage them to participate. Already there are several lines that now know, through this project, that they have a direct connection to the Blair of Blair line in Scotland. Other submitter lines have found new cousins! Both the Clan Blair Society and Blair Society for Genealogical Research endorse this project. BLAIR DNA Project
